Anthology giveaway
Because I’ve already twittered about Wondy swapping spit with Nemesis, Simpson’s leopard belt, and Catching the Frak Up, all content would be a repeat. And I’ve seen the cover to the Must Love Hellhounds anthology (a story that includes Sir Pup, but to my sister’s dismay, he does NOT hump a unicorn in it (he doesn’t hump anyone’s leg, either)). I can’t post the cover yet, but it gave me a theme for the giveaway.
Comment before Friday at midnight (that’s Pacific time, and the Friday/Saturday midnight) and you’ll be entered to win a copy of HOT SPELL, WILD THING, and FIRST BLOOD. Yep, one winner, three books.

OOHH!!! ALL of them are on my list!!! EEKK!!!
Go, Anthologies! Great giveaway idea Meljean. I would love to win these! And can’t wait for Must Love Hellhounds to come out!
Oh, anthologies. Great giveaway!
Wow! That’s awesome! I’d love to read these
I wanted to comment that “Catch the Frak Up” gives me a giggle — I’ve watched it a couple of times and the chick’s voice and the matter-of-fact but fast way she says everything just kill me (“they frak Cylon style and her spine lights up” and “on Caprica she finds the arrow and a #6. Girlfight.”) chortle!
Don’t enter me in the contest, I just am a fangirl of BSG!
Michelle
@Michelle: Yes yes! I’m seriously trying to think of something that I can do for the site in a similar way for readers coming into the middle of the series — it’s just that wonderful, entertaining style of narration. So it’s not just that the information is great … it’s fun to watch, too.
Holy giveaway, Batman! Sign me up! Thanks so much, Meljean!
I actually had my hands on Wild Thing the other day, although First Blood looks really cool!
Sir Pup gets his own story. I can’t wait. Oh yes pls sign me up.
Just because:
Part I
Part II
Oh! What a great prize package.
And Must Love Hellhounds sounds awesome.
Another great giveaway!
Please count me in too!
Thanks!
came here even though this refers to previous post (or I should say, question posed in previous post):
read the whole thread (only two years too late! ahem), things so much clearer now and questions I hadn’t even thought of answered. Never even occured to me about the roman mythology connection but I have always adored ‘winged victory’ in the Louvre and can now get a chuckle out of thinkng it was a Guardian all along! I did catch the ‘Vlad the Impaler’ bit all on my own. So now that I’m more informed, two comments and a two questions (in the hope that there are similar threads elsewhere):
- I love Michael. Can’t imagine how you’re going to humanize him with feelings and what kind of a heroine he would need, but man, to be the guy that all the superhonorable excellent Guardians look up to – that’s got to be tough.
- I also love Sir Pup, and am really grateful you stayed away from giant pooper-scooper jokes. How clever to give the animalish companions an antho of their own…
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!
Q1. Lucifer strips away L’s demonness bit by bit. I thought she was coolest when she had wings and perched all over the place. ‘Angel’ doesn’t have space for any rumination on what she misses about being a full-fleged (halfling) demon. I don’t remember right now if she thinks about this in ‘Moon’ or ‘Night’ (still havent’ started ‘Bound’ yet, waiting on my night table) – but I wonder: doesn’t she miss flight? Perching on things?
Q2. In ‘Moon’, C & S are periodically menaced by wyrmwolves. If they escaped from Chaos – why only one or two at a time, if they live in packs there? And if the wyrmwolves can find a way out – why don’t the Nosferatu follow them?
on the two year old thread, you also mentioned intent to read Sarah Monette. Did you? Because the first two books of her Labyrinth series blew my mind. Also, two years late. But nevertheless. About to leap into Book 3 – pretty much at the same time as ‘Bound’, actually. From my greedy anticipation, it would probably be hard to guess that I’m a comedy writer, myself…
Meljean – I’m sensing a contest here
You could have your own fangrrrls (they know who they are) write up a sassy narration a la Catch the Frak Up, and you could pick the best one. It would be fun and entertaining to read the various entries! Whaddayathink? Am I on to something here?
I’ve been trying to get a hold of the last 2! Throw my name in the hat, please!
Count me in on the contest, please! Great giveaway, Meljean.
Me’s in. I would love to win these books. Don’t have any of them. I’m also excited to get Must Love Hellhounds when it releases. A lot of great authors contributing.
That’s a great prize! Count me in.
Ooooo!!!!!! Want!
Awesome!
OK, first time trying to post anything BUT … found paranormal romance by chance a year ago. I found all the other authors I have read because of anthologies. I know I will be getting all the books in the “Guardians” series as soon as I can afford them but a head start would be really nice. In any case, thanks for “Anthony”, I keep him in my “re-read” stack!!
Anthologies are always welcome in my library – I see an author or two on those covers I haven’t tried yet.
Cool beans!
Count me in.
@Maya M.: I will answer these ASAP.
@Michelle: It would be way more work than I would ever feel comfortable asking anyone to do, even if the prize was like a Kindle or something. Once this deadline is over, I might start looking into how to do it … especially how best to put it into video format if it’s a book, not a show (so the visuals have to be different).
That’s actually the kind of thing I love doing in my spare time, so I’ll probably work on it myself … and lol, I have a lot of time, because the next book doesn’t come out until the fall.
Good luck everyone, I have them all, and wanted to say Meljean’s story in First Blood is my favorite short for the year, don’t miss it.
Great giveaway! Count me in please!
Those books look yummy!
Please, please pick me…do I sound like the kid in the playground hoping not to be picked last?
Great giveaway! All of the books look good!
I want! What a great giveaway! Count me in.
Oh, please count me in. I just found paranormal romance this past fall, I don’t know why I never read it before. I usually would read sci-fi/horror before I discovered PNR. But since my discovery, I have been gobbling up everything I can find in PNR.
Oh wow! I came for the one giveaway, and found another? Man am I glad that I was rereading Demon Angel and remembered your twitter feed…
i would love to be in!!
Because I have mad girllurv for you, I am willing to attempt to overcome my aversion to anthologies.
Count me in, I’d love these.
“Must Love Hellhounds”? It sounds like a winner. I’ll go google.
Count me in too. Wow those covers are gorgeous!
Just the title of the book alone has me buying it!
I’d love a chance to win these (=
Love the contest. Count me in.
I’d love to be considered too.
