I am having massive internet issues lately, so checking my e-mail has been iffy … and so has going online. Wow…this is indeed a nice surprise! -LoL- Nice cover and now after seeing it, it got me all tingly-excited inside! -LoL- And kickass cover (as if it hasn’t been mentioned numerous times by other commentors)! Nice to see the change-up from having males on the cover to this cool female.

I’m kind of wondering about the UF feel, though. Are you planning to head more in that direction (and less in the romance)?
I’m still very, very much in the romance direction. I think they are just trying to find the right fit for the series. Because the world-building is complicated (but is rooted in ‘real world’) enough to have more of a UF feel in that sense, but at the same time, each story is definitely ‘romance genre’. So I think they are going for a look that tries to convey both. The clinches were too romancey, so no one knew what they were picking up; the man-covers were in the right direction … but I think that, considering that my heroines are really the focus of these books and the strongest thing about them (IMO — I love my heroes, don’t get me wrong) this is by far the closest we’ve gotten in this series for the covers to really, really tell us what the book has inside.
The steampunk will be romance, too.
WoOt! That’s what I like to hear. I really do love the cover, and I agree it’s a good balance between the two, but I would be very sad (among other things) if you moved away from the romance genre.
I can’t wait for the steampunk!
But more than anything I want to know: When is the Hell Hound novella out again? I need a Sir Pup fix!
I think in September — a month before this, BUT! the story takes place after DEMON FORGED. There are slight spoilers if it is read out of order.
That’s very strange. Why? Not that I mind spoilers, but I know many readers do.
Mostly because I’m an idiot about dates. I’d already mapped out the story for FORGED, so when I was thinking of the novella, I put it after FORGED instead of before it. But then I wrote it first. (I did the opposite with DEMON MOON and WILD THING — I wrote MOON first, then Selah’s story, even though it went before. Those ended up published in chronological order; the hellhound story won’t.)
Also, speaking of ta-tas — this from DEMON FORGED:
