For me, the Linda Howard character that wins the asshole award is Nikolas Constantinos from ALL THAT GLITTERS. It’s been awhile since I’ve read LOVING EVANGELINE though . . .

Agh!! I remember that book! LH often walks that very tight line for me where her heroes are such assholes, but some, while they frustrate me, don’t turn me off as much as in ATG and LE … like Dane from DREAM MAN, who I know a lot of readers either love or hate, is one that I could tolerate and I ended up really loving the book. But in LE? Aggggghhhh!!! The systematic breakdown of the heroine was just too much, especially since the evidence to begin with was so freaking flimsy. I thought she handled a similar scenario much better in MACKENZIE’S MISSION.

You, missy, are responsible for making me miss my subway stop this morning. I picked up your book again, was about 15 pages into part two, looked up and was like, wait…I don’t go by this stop in the morning. Then I realized I was two stops past where I’m supposed to get off. *shakes fist* :)
