Odd Shots Thursday!

Just a reminder that I have Thursdays now! Today, I’m talking about my latest trip to Safeway’s bakery section, and asking whether you’d eat something that you know is chocolate…but looks like something else.

Also, this has been all over, but in case you haven’t seen it yet … well, if you’re a fan of Star Wars, you have to. :-D

I haven’t seen this one – thanks for sharing. My son is just starting to watch Star Wars and get into it. It’s odd to think that I was his age when I first saw Star Wars in the theater. There is a generation gap when my hubs and I discuss the series with him… We keep referring to Star Wars as the first movie, but he calls it the 4th! Damn Lucas for making 1-3!!

@Valerie: The perfect mix :-D

@twimom227: It’s the same thing with my little one. My husband and I actually had a long discussion about whether to show her the series as 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 4,5,6,1,2,3.

It’s so weird to think that Star Wars won’t have the same cultural context for her growing up, and that Obi Wan will be Ewan MacGregor, and all of the characters that *I* think of as the main characters (Leia, Han, and Luke) will have to share their spot with Amidala and Anakin.

At least Yoda is consistently awesome.

Meljean: These are the same issues we are dealing with (and dammit – they are serious issues!) We decided 4, 5, 6 for now (I’m still calling them 1, 2, 3) b/c they are good films and not tough to watch for a 7 year old. The “new” movies are more violent and the political undertones are too serious for a 7 year old (or at least mine). He has been reading this awesome LEGO StarWars book and he asked why there are so many young Anikin Skywalker figures and none when he is older.

No contest: 4,5,6–and then, if they want, they can watch the others.

:grin:

And thank you for the video, it’s hilarious.
