Marjorie Liu has her cover up for her new urban fantasy series, IRON HUNT. Have I ever mentioned how much I love tattoo covers? I do.

And, as I’m sure I’ve noted before, women’s backs.
The New York Times has “The Geek Hierarchy” chart up (you might have to be a subscriber, but it’s free). As a fanfic writer, I’m only halfway down. w00t! (Thanks to Arti for the link.)
The Occasional Superheroine has a post that shows how her ideas about Teh Sexeh have changed; it pretty much matches my own exactly, down to the two women she uses to illustrate it. Although I’m still a huge Jovovich fan. I even watched ULTRAVIOLET. (Bonus Fun: Her Ten Top Angsty Christmas Moments)
And at Writer Unboxed, Ray Rhamey has a great post on characterizing through experiential description. Describing a setting through interaction with it, and revealing character at the same time.

Um, what was that?
I meant – I heart tattoo covers too, they’re fantastic.
I got rid of the first blip
Yeah, the tattoos are just fantastic. And quickly becoming normal, so when I see a good one, I have a little heart flutter.
I’m actually partial to covers that spotlight the heroine. And I love those covers for the same reasons as you, Meljean, including the one for Marjorie Liu’s first IRON HUNT book (so psyched for that!). The Tim Maleeny cover is stunning! I haven’t see that one before.
They missed the box about those who think they are less geeky because they call themselves “Trekkers” and not “Trekkies”. (And I had a bonus laugh because I introduced the concept of Furries to a couple of people earlier this week…this was like my reward for spreading knowledge and bringing joy to the masses.)
And the cover of The Iron Hunt is particularly awesome!!
Bad info on the APC. Rule is anything over 13 oz with STAMPS must be taken to the counter. Your local PO is full of shit. The Mailman.
