Happy Birthday to me!
I got the galleys in for Demon Bound, w00t! I love this stage as much as I hate it. The pages are the first time I see them laid out as they will be in the book (you can click the image to see it better (ooh, along with a tiny bit of the scribbled-over proposal pages that I’m using as my last-pass edit before I send it to my editor, and my first coffee of the day (yeah, that “giving up caffeine” thing didn’t work out)) and it’s my chance to find all of those pesky typos that we missed in all of the other edits … but it’s also impossible to make big changes. So if I run across a paragraph that I want to re-write … tough titty, Missy kitty.
But it also means that ARCs will be going out to reviewers within the next couple of weeks. *bites nails*
And although it wasn’t *exactly* my birthday, yesterday First Blood came out, and I went to see Teresa Medeiros and Suzanne Enoch at their Borders signing. They had a fantastic Q&A, and I gushed a little (a lot) over Teresa Medeiros, whose work I will always, always love for the special sauce in the dungeon, if nothing else.
And Bram’s book is coming out in April.

Question – how many times have you read this book by now? I just wonder if there is a time when you get so sick of reading it over and over again. I’m just thinking of my university days when I wrote all those massive essays and would finally just say ‘fuck it! I’m done!’ Guess that wouldn’t be good business for you though.
Still, how many times now? Does your hubby ever read your work and help with editing or would you kill him (cause I about killed my hubby when he suggested I used a word too many times – hey, I only want to hear I’m perfect from you buddy!)
