She was the Anne Rice of werewolves for me (only with a less whiny cast). Such wonderful world building and characterizations. Her werewolves are not noble or whatever, they could be mean and cruel but she made them so different that we can see they are a different specie and not just human who happened to have the ability to turn into animals now and then.
