Both sides of my brain are highly susceptible to suggestion
So last night I was dreaming about something (I have no idea what) but in one part, I was in front of a window, looking at a poster advertising books. And at the bottom of the poster, I see a tiny little label with gold font lettering that said one of my novellas would be available as an ebook at the end of November. (It had a price point of $2.95, if you’re ever tempted to buy it with dream-money.)
Obviously, I picked it up from this discussion at Dear Author. The sad part is, however, that I’m even more susceptible than that.
About fifteen or so years ago, I watched an episode of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES (“Perchance to Dream”) where, because he can’t read anything, Bruce figures out that he’s been trapped in a dream state. He arrives at this conclusion because, as he explains, the right side of the brain enables reading, and dreaming is centered in the left side of the brain.
But I totally believed it until a couple of years ago, when I realized that I’m always reading things in my dreams. Like, for example, little labels with gold lettering.
But why would I doubt it? BATMAN SAID IT! *sob* He lied! He lied!
*deep breath*
So, you can pretty much tell me anything — and chances are, I’ll believe it.

lol. I remember that episode! I also have always assumed I couldn’t read things in dreams because of it. Whenever I have dreams where I’m trying to read something, I never try to hard because my brain tells me if batman can’t do it, neither can you.

OMG, I remember that episode of Batman, too! I completely believed it for years and was so impressionable, I remember one dream (yes, it got imported to my dream) where I thought to myself that this was real because I was able to read something. Of course, I woke up (and still believing the Dark Knight), I thought something was wrong with me. Yes, when I found out the truth, I had stopped watching Batman due to anger. It only lasted a day. I went back to Bruce the next day. *ahem*
Does anyone ever write in their dreams? This used to happen to me a LOT. I’d be doing a paper that’s due very soon, but went to nap or sleep. Then, I’d be writing this awesome paper, wake up, and remember bits of it but can never reproduce the greatness of my dreams. >_<
Yes, I’m very much a dork.
Alice — I used to do trig in my dreams all the time. I’m not sure what that says about me.
Carolyn — my bulletin board with the Guardian story arc that is burning into my eyes will overcome all Michael suggestions.
Ciara — yes, exactly! If Batman can’t do it, THEN HOW CAN WE?????
First you can’t trust policitians… and now Batman… this just breaks my heart. :boggle:
Batman’s dream is my nightmare
As for Michael…. definitely in my dreams
But…. but Batman is always right. Isn’t he? :boggle:
you are asleep reading this………… now you know you want to send me ever book you ever wrote autographed to me, that it is a got to do now thing!
and back to sleep and be at the post office early in the morning:twisted:
Looking at your bulletin board will give you a headache. You cannot write with a headache. Looking at your bulletin board is a function of your autonomic nervous system and if you overload it by looking ever ever again, you will be unable to type.
Michael is destined for Carolyn.
bwahahahaha!
*Bops Carolyn on the head* MICHAEL IS MINE! :ninja:
