And thanks to random.org, we have our winners! Thank you to everyone who entered! – the turnout was awesome, and because I’ve had such a great holiday (and because a giant box of books arrived last week) I’ve picked fifteen additional winners, who will receive The Iron Duke mass market edition, which releases on Tuesday.

Please look for your name in the list of winners below. If you’re there, please go to my giveaways page and enter your mailing information before January 31st.

Important: I will sign all of the copies, and unless you tell me otherwise, I will sign it to the first name entered into the mailing address form. If you plan to give it away to someone else, though, or if you just want me to sign it without adding your name, please let me know (there’s a “special notes” section in the address entry form).

This means I have forty-five books to mail out! I will do my best to send them in batches over the next two weeks, so if it takes a little time, don’t panic! But if you don’t receive them by the end of the month, please feel free to let me know, and I’ll check the tracking numbers.

The title pretty much says it all. I have a huge shelf full of Demon Marked, Angels of Darkness, and Heart of Steel, and I just don’t need them. (I’ve already read the books, after all.) So I’m giving away 10 copies of each in order to make room for 2012 releases.

Whee, that means I’m kind of like a mattress warehouse!

Entering is easy. Just comment before midnight on January 1st, 2012, and mention which book you’d like to win! If you also want to share your favorite holiday gift, your new year’s resolution, or the reading highlight of this year, please feel free!

If you are reading this at Goodreads, please come to my blog to enter!

This is the other important part: Check back before January 31st to see if you’ve won. I am not going to chase down thirty mailing addresses, but I’ll send out reminders to check back over social media forums. I will announce the winners here, then link to the list of winners on Twitter and Facebook. So, however you came to this blog — via a link, a feed reader, or just browsing my site — please remember to repeat that process after New Year’s Day! (I’ll probably be giving away more books that week, anyway.)

Also important! Robots are alive and well in 2012, but most of them want to enlarge our penises. Please help me fight spambots by NOT putting your e-mail address in the body of the comments. If you win, I can verify your identity through the e-mail address you give when your enter your name into the comment form. For example:

This is an example. Please do not try to enter your information on this picture.

The small print: Comment by 11:59:59 PM Pacific time on 01/01/2012 for your chance to win. Ten winners of each book (Demon Marked, Angels of Darkness, and Heart of Steel) will be selected randomly using random.org, and their names posted on this blog 01/02/2012. Winners must provide Meljean with their mailing address by January 31, 2012 or the prize will be forfeit. Only one entry per ISP address. The contest is open to international readers. No purchase necessary to enter. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Void where prohibited.

I recently received my translated copies of The Iron Duke, but I don’t need more than one! So I’m giving five copies of them away to readers here.

I do have one stipulation, though, and I’m sorry for it — these need to go to someone who reads German. I know! This totally sucks of me, because I know it’s kind of cool to have foreign editions, in the same way it’s awesome to have ARCs … but I really want these to be read (and hopefully enjoyed) for the story inside rather than just the packaging.

So if you read German or know someone who does and might enjoy this as a gift, please feel free to comment below and enter! Contest ends Monday, December 12th at Midnight, Pacific time, and I will do my best to send them to you in time for the holidays. Good luck!

Many of you know my friend Jill Myles from the Odd Shots blog and from our Wild & Steamy anthology. (Remember the sexy shifter threesome? Yeah, I know you do. That was hers.) Well, next week she’s coming out with a new shifter story under a new name: Jessica Sims.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to read this book earlier this year, and I gotta say: this is a hell of a lot of sexy fun. No threesomes this time, but a really fabulous hero and heroine, a secondary couple to die for (I’m really looking forward to the sequel), and a creepy-as-hell villain.

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to read her work, Jessica Sims has a light, contemporary voice, combined with a scorching pen when it comes to the sexy times. I’ll let you see that for yourself, however; here’s an excerpt of the book with Pocket’s Browse Inside feature (scroll down to the “Browse Inside” graphic).

WANTED

Single human female to join charming, wealthy single male were-cougar for a night of romantic fun – and maybe more.

Me: The tall, sensuous, open-minded leader of my clan.

You: A deliciously curvy virgin who’s intimately familiar with what goes bump in the night. Must not be afraid of a little tail. Prefer a woman who’s open to exploring her animal nature. Interest in nighttime walks through the woods a plus.

My turn-ons include protecting you from the worst the supernatural world has to offer.

Ready for an adventure? Give me a call.

Vampires and doppelgangers need not apply.

I’m giving away two copies of Beauty Dates the Beast this week — all you have to do to enter is comment and tell me: Which supernatural beastie would you be interested in dating? Or, which one would you absolutely not? (If you are on Goodreads, please come to blog to enter!)

The small print: Comment by 11:59:59 PM Pacific time on 10/22/2011 for your chance to win. Two winners will be selected randomly using random.org, and their name posted on this blog 10/23/2011. Winner must provide Meljean with their mailing address by November 10th, 2011 or the prize will be forfeit. Only one entry per ISP address. The contest is open to international readers. No purchase necessary to enter. A review of the book is always deeply appreciated. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Void where prohibited.

*Except I don’t have a lawn. Or a gun. Or blocks to put it on. Maybe I’ll just throw rocks and swear at it.

Thanks to the power of random.org, we have our five winners:

#154 – Jennifer!

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King is my all-time favorite. I also like Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld stories.

#144 – Aimee P.!

Right now one of my favorite short stories is Magic Dreams by Illona Andrews. It’s a novella featuring Jim and Dali! Jim has always been an intriguing character and ever since Dali was introduced in Magic Strikes (I think), I’ve always thought she was a fun character! I can’t wait to hopefully read more about these two in the future!

#297 – Biki

What? I have to choose? Doesn’t work that way, I have one (or many) for each author my favorite of your books is in Burning Up, here There Be Monsters. I adore Ivy an Mad Machen’s story

#31 – Estara

Hmm. There are many choices near-the-top, but the one anthology novella whose story has stayed with me for years and who I can reread again and again and still like is Loretta Chase’s The Mad Earl’s Bride. It’s about a woman from the family as her heroine in the incredible Lord of Scoundrels. Saying anymore would spoil the plot that is as good as the characters. It’s in Three Weddings and a Kiss and also in the anthology Three Times a Bride – published 15 years later. How’s that for longevity ^^.

#217 – Sara S.

I loved alpha and omega by Patricia Briggs in on the prowl. I havent yet read Silent Blade but I can’t wait

Congratulations! I love that entire thread – many of you have the same favorites that I do, and for those that I haven’t read, I’m going to look them up.

Winners! You need to go to my giveaways page and enter your mailing information! I am going to send you an e-mail now, but after that, I’m not going to chase you down! I need to have your info by October 15th, please.

Angels of Darkness isn’t the only release I have on October 4th — I’ve also written the foreword to STEAMLUST, an anthology of erotic steampunk romance edited by Kristina Wright.

STEAMLUST

Steampunk Erotic Romance

Edited by Kristina Wright, Foreword by Meljean Brook

To avoid confusion, please note: I am writing the foreword for this erotic steampunk collection. It does not include an Iron Seas tale, but awesome and original stories by many talented authors: Sylvia Day, Saskia Walker, Sacchi Green, Christine d’Abo, Charlotte Stein, Elizabeth Coldwell, Vida Bailey, Anna Meadows, Lisabet Sarai, Andrea Dale, Lynn Townsend, Mary Borsellino, Nikki Magennis, and Anya Richards (whose story is new to me, too! Whee! an awesome treat for me. I didn’t mention this one in the foreword, but it’s definitely not an intentional slight! The story is fantastic.)

Okay, so — here’s the official description:

Steamlust is romantic erotica that reflects the excitement, fantasy and rebellion of steampunk. Not sure what steampunk is? Think Victorian elegance and aesthetics meets futuristic invention and exploration. The genre of steampunk itself has transcended the Victorian (or Edwardian) eras — in Kristina Wright’s inventive anthology, it can be any time period, real or imagined, that blends elements of science, history, fantasy and technology. Until Steamlust, the genre had been missing romantic relationships and erotic encounters. Steampunk erotic romance is shiny brass and crushed velvet; mechanical inventions and romantic conventions; sexual fantasy and kinky fetish. It’s steam powered sexy romance!

Editrix extraordinaire Kristina Wright creates a lush and fantastical world of women-centered stories and romantic scenarios, first for steampunk fiction. Fetishizing the wardrobe, language, fantasy and rituals of steampunk, Steamlust includes alternate histories, second worlds, time travel and contemporary settings.
