WTF?

*cries*

*headdesk*

*crazy happy dance*

…okay, I’m almost ready for the release. Reviews are coming in (like this one). I’m putting my head down and going to pretend not to see (until, of course, I do a round up next week while massively pimping my book. I’m buying a pimp hat just for the occasion.)

A couple of things.

January 25th, 2008

AAR’s Annual Poll is still ongoing (until mid-February). Apparently, voting is slowing down early — don’t forget to cast your vote for your favorite book of 2007 (but, uh, not just that favorite book, because you have to enter several categories, and straight-ticket ballots are deleted, I think.)

Okay, and this is interesting — it looks like angel/demon romances are no longer “paranormal” but “fantasy” according to their new genre guidelines. Does that make DEMON MOON, which is set in the world of angels/demons, but stars a vampire hero, a fantasy or a paranormal romance? I don’t know. I’m guessing it’s the SF/F category? (Okay, lol — yes — it’s there, even though DEMON ANGEL was apparently in the paranormal? I’m so confused.)

Anyway, don’t forget to vote!

Also, don’t forget about the DEMON NIGHT contest lisabea is having over at Nose In A Book. And she said some really wonderful things about Charlie that pretty much had me bawling.

There’s a special excerpt of DEMON NIGHT over at the Good, the Bad, and the Unread. And there might be another neat announcement going up at that site sometime today. I’m not sure what their posting schedule is, but as soon as it goes up, I’ll link and edit this post.

Holly from the Book Binge put up a review of DEMON NIGHT. Here’s what she said.

I hate this book.

Nah, I’m just kidding.

There were times whilst reading this when I truly felt like my heart would break. My palms got clammy and a knot formed in my stomach. Other times I was so emotionally overcome I felt tears welling in my eyes. It was…amazing.

I’m also Guest Authoring over at the Book Binge the first week of February.

Finally — the funniest, strangest, most WTFiest thing I’ve seen lately is at Gennita Low’s blog: probably NSFW.

Gah.

Okay, I can’t keep up with all of the people on message boards who are hotlinking to Capt Kirk and He-Man, so I had to block all outside access to my image files. Which unfortunately means some legitimate hotlinks (mine, and those who are linking to my covers and stuff) will get blocked, too.

If you end up with a message that says, “Oops! hotlinked, blah blah,” let me know and I’ll send you the link to the pic in imageshack, or just e-mail the picture to you.

Just…..

*whack*

*whack*

(Vague, but satisfying to get it out — for me at least. Let’s just leave it at: I’m an idiot.)

…in other news, I had this for dessert tonight:

chocolate

Thanks, Arti :)

I have no voice…

February 2nd, 2007

Because I’ve been coughing too much, but if I did, I’d be singing this song after hearing that Joss Whedon is no longer going to be connected with the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.

*sobbing*

Gah!

*crawling back into bed* Tell me when it’s over… *sobbing*

ETA: Or this song.

Gah! On series names (or, rather, trying to think of one)

October 30th, 2006

I just read the December RT Magazine

I really need to come up with a better name for this series than “The Guardians” or whatever. God, it’s worse than trying to think of a title.

I have demon-slayer.com reserved for my use if I ever get around to creating a site for it; the name is based on a game inside the novels. It could be that. The DemonSlayers. That’s okay, only it runs the “too close to Buffy, she’s a rip-off” feeling.

Lilith’s Brood (sigh. I miss Octavia Butler)

Caelum’s … something or Warriors of Caelum or Warriors of Heaven or something (but really, that doesn’t mean anything unless you know where Caelum is, and “heaven” makes it sound a little too inspirational? And is “warriors” (or “knights” or anything like that too generic now?)) Ah, sheeeeit! Ninjas of Caelum!

The Fallen (only they kind of aren’t…not all of them…although I do play with fallen and falling in love a lot. probably too much, but it’s always important when someone falls, physically or emotionally or spiritually or whatever.)

DarkAngels? Because they have to sound all sexy and stuff, and the books are kind of dark. And bloody. But BloodAngels sounds all vampire-y. Guardians of the Blood? Sigh. And blood is really important for Guardians, and there are vampires, but I don’t want to give the wrong impression (I’ll let my books do that.) But “Dark” is done in a lot of variations, “Night” is done in a lot more….hey, I can take it to another level with a big ‘O’: Meljean’s DorkSeries

GAH! See, this is the problem. It always delves into silliness when I do this stuff.

ETA: I can’t stop.

I suppose there’s also playing with Hell and such. Like The Demon Rising series or The DemonFall series or Demon Burning series. Or the Hell Hath No Fury series.

Heh. I kind of like that, but none of my heroines are scorned.

Or souls. The Tortured Souls (Eaten in Chaos and Don’t Make a Bargain or You’ll Regret It) series.

Ooh, so bargains work, too. The DemonSex Bargainers: The I’ll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours series. Hee.

Warning! Do not remove Brandon Routh’s clothes!

October 3rd, 2006

Superman MattelI just stripped my Superman Returns Ken to see if I could take the padding out of his costume. I shouldn’t have done that.

He’s articulated in…weird places. And his waist is very, um, girlish. I like my boys pretty, but…geez. And everything below the waist makes me want to cry.

I’ve captured the image below. For posterity.  (Please note gratuitous product placement.) (more…)
