My letter to my high school chemistry teacher…
…is over at Odd Shots.
…is over at Odd Shots.
I finished DEMON BLOOD, mostly, in that I wrote the last chapter but I still have to go in and fill/fix a few things, so that’s on my plate this week and through the weekend, and then that’ll be a huge relief to get that out. But, yay! I love it, so that’s always good.
I have a new contest up: an Odd Shots pack, which includes a series-opening book from each Odd Shots author that isn’t me, because NEXT month there should be another awesome gift pack that will include my work.
And speaking of Odd Shots and awesome authors, Ilona Andrews has her new cover for Magic Bleeds, which is one of my most-anticipated books for 2010.
I’ve made a few other website changes, including the aforementioned re-numbering of the Guardian series.
The Book Smugglers have kicked off Smugglivus, one of my favorite blogger events. I love this poster that Kmont made up for them. Click and be merry.

…is over at Odd Shots. Jill is a sick, funny woman.
I don’t love a lot of book trailers, but Jill Myles put hers up at Odd Shots today … and I love it. It’s fun (and her husband did all of the artwork, lucky girl) and I think really gives a great intro to the voice and style of her books.
Ilona also recently sent me a link for Sherrilyn Kenyon’s quickie book trailers for her League series:
Born of Night
Born of Fire
Born of Ice
Awesome, but obviously produced at a higher level than most authors’ trailers.
[tongue-in-cheek]Of course, you too can have a high-level, Hollywood trailer for the bargain price of $19,999.[/tongue-in-cheek]
And I didn’t post this cover, but I probably could have. Come see my shame.

Over at Odd Shots, Jill lists the Top Ten reasons to buy On the Edge by Ilona Andrews. I could add a couple of more, namely that Ilona rocks the worldbuilding, added a strong romance, and she’s just a fabulous writer … but Jill’s is funnier than mine.
Don’t forget that you have until midnight tonight to enter to win L.B. Gregg’s GOBSMACKED, the first in her Men of Smithfield series. The third, COVER ME, comes out October 2nd.
Kate of Babbling About Books has what might be the sweetest writeup for DEMON FORGED ever. I remember when I sent her an early copy I was biting my nails, because I knew that the STUFF THAT HAPPENS in the book might either really, really work … or not. Lucky for me, it worked, and has become her favorite book (so far
) of 2009.
VampFanGirl continues her 9-day Guardian Extravaganza with DEMON ANGEL! Every day she’s giving away a book, plus there’s an opportunity to win the entire series. Click here to check it out.
And in the comments of one of these links you will find … Glamour Shots. Of me. At 20.
So young. So stupid. So clutchy at my jacket. So WTF is up with my hair.
Did I mention I’m filling in again at Odd Shots today? Heh. Yeah. Still getting used to this double-blogging thing (does that sound dirty or what?)

The signing at Powell’s was FANTASTIC! Marti from Powell’s was as amazing as always, and it was great catching up with both authors and readers. Debut author Margaret Mallory sat on my right, and I pimped DEMON ANGEL to her and now I just hope she doesn’t laugh at the medieval sections (“Aye”) since she writes in that quickly disappearing subgenre — and I pumped Jean Johnson (this sounds dirty, too) for information about her upcoming book, SHIFTING PLAINS (a kind-of prequel to her Sons of Destiny series) and stuff she has on proposal. Thank you so much to everyone who came, and to Nicola and Bridget Locke, who put up with me afterwards and let me stuff them with tater tots. I didn’t take my camera, so no pics, but if any show up around the blogs or at Rose City RWA, I’ll try to remember to link to them here.
