Bloggers & Reviewers: Looking for RIVETED review copies?
Hi everyone! I’ve received a couple of questions regarding review copies. I’ve heard that finished review copies have been sent out from Berkley, so if you typically receive books from them, I imagine that it will be included. Otherwise, there are two other options:
NetGalley: Reviewers can request a copy from Berkley by contacting the publicity department. The book is NOT available in the public catalog. From what I understand, you can contact Berkley through the NetGalley system, but if you can’t figure out how to do that, then you can email berkleynalpublicity@us.penguingroup.com with your information and the email address that is linked to your NetGalley account. If the request is approved, Berkley sends a secure link for you to download the review copy from NetGalley.
Edelweiss: If you have an account with Edelweiss (it looks pretty easy to register), you can use the “Request Digital RC” button on Riveted’s information page. Again, the request will have to be approved before a review copy is sent.
UPDATE: I’ve heard that the Edelweiss ARC has random line numbers scattered through it and there are other readability issues (tiny fonts that won’t increase in size). If you have received one of these ARCs, please contact me and I’ll send you a different one.
Before anyone asks: I have no idea what Berkley is looking for when it approves a review copy. But I suppose the worst that can happen is that you’re out a few minutes of your time. (Okay, actually, the worst that can happen is that you anticipate the book and then are totally disappointed in it, because that’s a few hours of your time.) So I guess we’ll both cross our fingers that doesn’t happen, hmm? 😀
