"I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center."
The first Kurt Vonnegut book I read was GALAPAGOS, and I knew I was going to always love his work when his narrator began putting asterisks after the names of people who were soon going to die, so as not to unduly upset the reader.
Anyway. Maybe he can see more over the edge than he can close to it.
