I'm writing, but not like Ilona Andrews does.
When I’m on deadline, my Google Reader backs up to the 1000+ posts (which I’m pretty sure is more like 3000+). But there’s one blog that I do check every day, and that is Ilona Andrews‘s. Not just because she has funny stories, great snippets from her WIPs, and because I heart her as a person … but because she does stuff like this:
Takes a paragraph and talks about POV in a way that I haven’t seen articulated before, but makes perfect sense, and has already changed how I look at my writing. (And not 1st person/3rd person POV, but the function of point-of-view within a paragraph.)
Apparently, she’s got a bunch more paragraphs to do, too — so of course I’ll be checking back in every day.
I know not everything she writes will be applicable to every writer’s style or voice … but this is awesome stuff, folks. Reading rules about writing and editing isn’t anything like seeing it in action.
