Nov 1: Buffalo roaming vs. Antelopes playing
DECISION ’08
NOVEMBER 1
Days left until DEMON BOUND is out: 3
Days left until the national election: 3
If you are looking for the daily vote, you’re in the right spot.
Howdy, pardner!
As we close in on the final days of the contest (and approach the U.S. National election) I thought we’d focus on something near and dear to our hearts: The American West. It’s a rugged land, where the men and women have calluses on their hands, where characters drop their ‘g’s and say “ain’t” because they ain’t got time to mess around with longer words like ‘aren’t,’ and all their learnin’ is done in a one-room school, anyways. It’s where, no matter how many supplies you put in your wagon, you still get messages like this:
So for those of you who love historicals but are tired of the European settings, here’s a package for you (you get to choose two out of these six):
A REASON TO LIVE, by Maureen Mckade, TALL, DARK, AND TEXAN by Jodi Thomas, THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER by Cheryl St. John, THE REBEL AND THE LADY by Kathryn Albright, RIDE THE FIRE by Pamela Clare, and THE BORROWED BRIDE by Elizabeth Lane
Vote for your two favorites. The winner will receive the most popular choice, along with a copy of any title from my backlist (books 1-6 of the Guardian series — this does not include Demon Bound.)
ETA: Cheryl St. John just stopped by and so now we’ll have two winners! One person will win the books picked above, and one lucky commenter will also win a copy of Cheryl St. John’s December release, HER MONTANA MAN. Thanks, Cheryl!
ETA 2: Pamela Clare has also increased the number of books we’re giving away today, folks! One commenter will win SURRENDER, and another will will RIDE THE FIRE! Thank you so much, Pamela!
My backlist suggestion: DEMON NIGHT, hands down. Ethan is a slow-talking, easy-going type of hero who hasn’t always done right, but who has a bone-deep sense of honor. (And although it’s not the book where Jake from DEMON BOUND is introduced, it’s the one where Jake is an important secondary character — and his actions have an enormous effect on Ethan and Charlie’s lives.)
So, are you ready to vote? Great! But first, a word from our sponsor:
[poll id=”22″]
Note: Voting does not enter you to win.
Everyone can vote, but only by leaving a comment in this post are you eligible to win whichever option receives the most votes by the end of the day.
Feel free to simply state “voted” or “present” or even a smiley to enter — or, you might choose to argue your case. Comments from dissenters, moderates, and fangirls are all welcome, but personal attacks will get you disqualified.
Don’t forget to vote in the Grand Prize poll by November 3rd — everyone can vote in that poll, even if you don’t post the widget anywhere.
For complete rules and instructions in how to receive an additional entry into the Grand Prize drawing, please visit DEMON BOUND headquarters.
Good luck!
