Phew!
I made it through day one!
A few more reader reviews have popped up at Bam’s and nath’s. My favorite part of Bam’s? “…the bitch can write…” :joker: I’ll try to keep linking reviews, but I’m also trying not to look too much. (I’m breaking out, totally. No sleep, girly-things, a little stress, too much chocolate (it’s my sister’s fault, she works at Godiva and brings me all kinds of stuff) and combination shampoo-conditioner, and it’s like I’m a teenager again.) If you’ve read it, or deciding whether you’d like it and would like to buy it, don’t forget there’s a month-long reader discussion over at DearAuthor.com.
Things I did today:
Turned two copies of my book that were shelved spine-out in Borders face-out (don’t worry, I didn’t un-face-out anyone else’s books to do this…there was room).
Stuck bookmarks in the four copies at my local Fred Meyer (and I would have signed them, too, but I couldn’t find my pen and the tot wanted her Popsicles right now Mooooom-mmmmeeeeee!)
Messed up while signing one of the contest winner books, misspelling a name, and so crossed it out and wrote: To Mick. Well, you totally fucked that up. Here’s a copy of your book. –Meljean So now I have two copies that I’m keeping for my very own.
Finished the first part of the DEMON MOON revisions. Realized I don’t have enough paper on hand to print out the second half of my DEMON MOON manuscript to do the hand-written part of the revisions (I do a bunch of edits on paper, then input them into the document file). And I forgot to pick up more paper when I was out. (Mommmm-eeeeeeeee!)
God, but life is good when you can blame all of your shortcomings on your three-year-old.
Saw that Amazon.com practically sold out of their copies of the book — at one point, they only had one in stock. (But apparently they re-ordered more, because that warning isn’t up anymore.) I hope they stocked more than 10 copies, because I think that’s how many my mom ordered. And that would be sad, if my mom was the reason I sold out. (Actually, I think the real reason is the awesome reader reviews that have been popping up around the internet — Thank you, readers!)
