Quick update
More tomorrow. Good thing is, modem is working, my regular e-mail seems to be working *crossing my fingers on that*, pages are uploaded, the skunk smell not so bad (I shouldn’t drive on back roads, I swear), people are married, I’ve turned thirty years old (maybe that shouldn’t be included in ‘good things’)…
Okay, I’m guessing the only thing that really matters are the “pages are uploaded” part, because now that I have the cover I can make the pretty Demon Night page, and update the book pages. The excerpt from Demon Night is probably longer than the one I’ll use in a month or two, because I’m trying to decide whether to use prologue + chapter one (which I guess is not a good thing, because some readers will pick up the book in the store when it is out, check out the first few pages and think, “oh, I’ve read this before” and put it back — except that I think anyone visiting the blog or the site right now is probably actually looking for information about it and maybe planning to buy it, so they won’t get mixed up) or that first section of chapter two (because it has more hero/heroine interaction, which I really like to read in an excerpt). Closer to release time, I’ll probably do the same thing I did with Demon Moon, and link to the 4-chapter excerpt … but that will be after revisions and such.
I noticed that Demon Moon is available as an e-book through Powell’s (you have to scroll down to see the available formats). I don’t know if it’s available through other e-book vendors, and I didn’t see it on the Penguin site. But, w00t! that’s pretty cool.
