Website update kinda-sorta finished.
All of the main pages have content, anyway. I still have to finish up pages for Wild Things and Demon Moon, write up a behind-the-story (Sybil’s tidbits) section of Demon Angel in anticipation of its release (as well as regarding my research, such as explaining how my earl is also a baron, how Lilith is quoting Paradise Lost before its first publication, and so on.) Plus, talking about a lot of the references within the novel, because those are just fun.
I’m anticipating a few questions, so I’ll probably make up an FAQ (but the “FA” being “fearfully anticipated” instead of “frequently asked”) with answers to such queries like: Why did you do that to that poor dog???!!!!111onetwo
(I didn’t; Lucifer did.)
Plus, I adore the characters to death, so I’ll probably talk way too much about them, and what makes them tick, and why I did what I did in a few places (like the evolution of Hugh from alpha detective in my first versions to something else) and what I (they?) was thinking when they made certain decisions. Maybe. I don’t know if that’s something people want (what I think about the characters. It doesn’t negate readers’ reactions, and it surely isn’t the only way to look at them, because author intent often has very little to do with reader response and/or reality, so I guess it’s more of a behind-the-scenes to what happens when characters take over your story, your life and your brain until your marriage is about to fall apart and your house is a mess and your kid is starved for affection the evolution of a few characters and the stories. If I’m not too lazy, that is.)
Then I guess I need to talk about myself a little more, like my “road to publication” stuff. Blech. Actually, I can sum that up in this sentence: it was all too smoothly paved, so I’m expecting a detour anytime.
In hopes of avoiding that detour, I better get back to my proposal.
